The VEC Basketball inaugural season came to an end on March 31st 2008 with a loss to Sungard. VEC battled hard despite the absence of some of their key contributors at the guard and center positions. With a halftime lead that was later built on in the first five minutes of the second half, VEC was riding high on momentum. Sungard, however, battled back, getting themselves to the foul line and regaining the lead. Sungard sank key free throws in the final minutes to clinch the game. VEC's team greatly appreciates all of the employee and family fan support throughout the season. The team looks forward to building on the late season momentum during next years season, where they will look to improve upon this years successes and increase involvement in the program with more employees that express interest.
