VEC Expands Its Minority Business Strategy

Valdes Engineering Company (VEC) is excited by the many opportunities ahead as it expands its Minority Business strategy. By becoming more involved with organizations that promote Supplier Diversity such as the Chicago Minority Business Development Council, Inc. (CMBDC), VEC will do its part to promote and practice supplier diversity. VEC is proud to announce its participation in the 42nd Annual Chicago Business Opportunity Fair (CBOF) as a member of the Workshops Committee. The CBOF is hosted by the CMBDC and will be at Navy Pier – Chicago, IL this year on April 6th – 8th. It is the oldest and largest procurement show in the nation devoted exclusively to multi-cultural and multi-ethnic businesses.

VEC has been a member of the CMBDC for more than ten years and is a certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE). The CMBDC is one of the nation's premier organizations for minority business development and is an affiliate of the National Minority Supplier Development Council, Inc. (NMSDC). As an MBE, VEC’s awards include its selection as the 2005 Minority Supplier of the Year by BP Products North America.

VEC also practices what it preaches by developing relationships with certified diverse suppliers who sell their products and services to VEC. VEC is looking to increase its purchases of products and services from certified diverse suppliers for its two engineering offices.
